SSFP Franchise Development Team has completed five in-house operation research
studies.
Study-1: A Study on Effect of Volunteers on
Attracting Visitors to Health Fair and Reflections on Smiling Sun Clinic
Services
The specific objectives of this study are: (a) assessing extent of effectiveness of health fair for
increasing customer to the SS clinics; (b) identifying factors important for
gathering local people to the fair; (c) Capturing visitors’ views/opinions on
services and attracting more people to the model clinic.
Personnel of SSFP and franchisee staff took short interview of 272 visitors (>=18 years old) selected
randomly during June-July, 2008 at the end of Fair visit organized during
inauguration of three model clinics (Keranigonj, Tongi and Rayerbazar).
Study-2: Study Report on Better Utilization of
Community Service Provider (CSP)
Main objective of the CSP study was to capture views and opinions of CSPs and clinic management on
how better utilization of CSP is possible.
Three clinics from Rajshahi cluster (located at Naodapara, Godagari, Badalgachi) and four clinics
from
Chittagong
cluster (located at Patiya-Rural, Anwoara, Fatikchhari and Raozan) have been
selected from 5 NGOs viz.
JTS
, Tilottoma,
PSF
, FDSR and
SUS
. FGDs have been conducted during January 18-28, 2009
with CSPs and clinic management covering the following issues
selected initially.
Study-3: Study Report on Satellite Clinics of
Smiling Sun Health Network
The main objective of this study was to assess
the level of performance of satellite sessions.
Data and information were collected from 23 clinics over telephone and SMS (short message service).
Telephonic interviews have been conducted with the Clinic Managers and
Paramedics during September 10 to 17, 2009. Also related information was
collected from MIS and Grants team of SSFP for analyzing financial data along
with range of services for the period of February to July 2009.
Study-4: Study Report on Feasibility of Expanding
Home Delivery Service at SS Clinics
The purpose of this study was to see whether and how HD services can be provided successfully.
Objectives were to; identify strengths and weakness of existing HD services;
assessing level of financial earning to both clinic and service providing
personnel; assessing demand and feasibility of HD services.
Study-5: Evaluation study on Training on Program
Management and Financial Management
The main objective of the evaluation is to know the knowledge gained on program management and
financial management from TOT intervention. However, specific objectives were:
(a) assessing level of knowledge gain on each of four training modules of
program management separately; (b) assessing level of understanding gain on
financial management aspects, (c) understanding about how participants are
utilizing training knowledge and ideas; (d) recommendation for modifications of
training program and materials.
